I've been reviewing a couple of eco-camps on my blog, http://www.flashnomad.com, and now I'm all I can think of is doing something similar on our land where we grow organic lemons. I loved reading this post because it gave me a real sense of what is involved to set up an eco-center versus what it is like to stay in one. Right now I'm working on an article "What is an Eco-Camp?" and would love to run it past you.
Thanks for the great read. Bibi

I hope things are going well for you.
I just wanted you to know, I did this for 15 years in Bolivia. It was great, I miss it. All we bought was salt, occasional cooking oil, soap, and bullets, and often we just traded for those things. Everything else we planted or got from the woods. This was on the eastern slope of the Andes, at about 1,000 meters. It was semi-tropical, so we had the kind of plants you speak of. Good luck, I wish you the best.

Hi,

I would be interested to know where you picked up a chofu heater, or if you picked one up, here in Hawaii. I am contemplating building my own hot tub out of cinder blocks but want to heat it with wood. Thanks for any info you might have - and congrats on your farm!
