Subsistence Farming - Hawaii

we have some swell interns (3 women) AND we still miss you.

our pond is slowly filling up. its filling up with bufo toad eggs faster than water.
we have 2 ducks getting big enough to live in the pond.

we have 2 pregnant goats (muriel and abigail) and we lost 3 goats a few weeks ago to a very painful death by enterotoximia (poison-natural). we lost poppy, charlotte (the sisters) and knickers. the young kid note got it but lived. very sad, lots of tears and digging of big holes. boo hoo. we decided to really pare down and sold dublin to be a stud elsewhere.

we have a new horse that is beautiful and ridable.

nvc is changing our lives.

lauren is at a dance tonight. she went with her friend willow.

we finished the 2nd (3rd including jim’s) intern sleeping space. it came out very sweet.

we are considering a cow 5 years from now, maybe.

the chickens down below are all well and happy.
the chickens up here are happy too. we had 4 roosters up here so we ate 2.

we are all happy and healthy. enjoying our life here. not noticing what else is happening in the world.

we are getting lots of beans, and we have cucumbers and the tomatoes are starting to touch the ceiling in the kite house.

lots less albizias than when you were here last.

i have been cold lately. i think it is the added wind.

we are throwing around ideas for a permanent living/kitchen structure to replace the ohia house. maybe bamboo, maybe cement, maybe ohia…
